The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept at cleaning dog hair. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. Also, it doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.
It's still a good value, especially if your office or home has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. Plus, it's very quiet and can be used while you're at work or going to school. The only thing it lacks that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has self-emptying docks, however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

The app comes with a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it can get to corners and underneath furniture more easily. It features a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as intelligent combs to remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-clean that scours a specific area.
